Orphan monks colouring in competition

East Bentleigh Vet Clinic Colouring-In Competition from the Orphan Monk boys of Kagyudpa Monastery, Bylakuppe, India.

The boys in these photos sent their entries in our colouring in competition. They are all orphans who are looked after by the monastery.

They have taken on the care of the stray puppies around the monastery grounds so that they are healthy enough to undergo surgery for desexing by Vets Beyond Borders Volunteer Vets.

Dr. Michael Heath and the boys’ teacher, Ani Samten collaborated on this “Puppy Project.” Both the boys and the puppies benefit.

Dr. Michael and his wife Dr. Lisa and their children Fin and Archie, will be visiting Bylakuppe, India again this year in September to continue volunteering their veterinary services and meet up with Ani and the boys.
